One’s bike tour adventure to heritage sites like the museums, churches and historical landmarks starts here in Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte. The culture-rich towns of Vigan, Paoay, Burgos, Laoag and Pagudpod, through locally made wine, specially prepared empanada and well crafted jars is a gastronomical adventure. Mountain biking to the town of Adams, a “green” experience, one would embark on for nine days of travel back in the old times.

Day 1 - Fly in to Laoag, the capital city of Ilocos, Norte. Beyond Outdoor Adventures’ tour leader and driver await for you at the Laoag International Airport and will bring you to Vigan, the capital city of Ilocos Sur. Vigan is one of the few Hispanic towns in the Philippines thus is it a World Heritage Site, known for it’s cobblestone streets, old Spanish houses and museums. It is best for a walking tour at night before a sumptuous dinner. We end the day at Grandpa’s Inn – “A home away from home”.
Day 2: A day of exploring a fusion of Oriental and Philippine building and construction design as you bike around Vigan to the cathedral, Burgos Museum and get your hands into making “BURNAY”- famous Ilocano jar used for storing locally-made products like vinegar, wine (basi) and fish sauce. Your experience of Vigan wont be complete without indulging to Vigan’s authentic delicacy – tasty Vigan Empanada filled with grated unripe papaya.
Day 3: We bid goodbye to Vigan as we travel by car early morning to the town of Curimao which is famous for its coastal rock formations. Next to our destination is the town of Paoay that became famous for its century-old and Baroque church and inland lake that a legend said was sank by God because of its people’s materialism. We will also visit the Marcos Museum and Mausoleum which is the current resting place of the former Philippine President Ferdinand E. Marcos and head to Laoag.
Day 4: Laoag means “Light or Clarity. Our bike tour adventures includes sand boarding in a sandy coastal unique desert environment that the locals call it “Bantay Bimmaboy” for the dunes resemble the shape of pigs. Amazingly, see the sand dunes from a horizon with West Philippine Sea. We will continue our coastal bike tour going to The Kapurpurawan Rock Formation, an empeccable beauty crafted by Mother Nature. Explore more of these rock formations by horseback riding to the Palpalokada, a mountain with breathtaking view.

Day 5: Today’s bike tour adventure starts going up Cape Bojeador with gradual climbs to pump our lungs. It is a welcoming beacon to the early galleons and the modern international ships that enter the Philippine Archipelago. First lit on March 30, 1892 overlooking the Cape Bojeador. While in Burgos, we will explore a multi-layered waterfalls called by locals as Avis Waterfalls. Then we will bike our way to the giant Windmills of Bangui.
Day 6: Early morning we start our day biking and trekking to Kabigan Falls, around 15kms and then make our way to Patapat via Duct passing the Blue Lagoon and a sidetrip to Bantay Abot Cave then we enjoy the Surf and Music Festival. You may surf in the afternoon and party at the music festival- live bands of different genres.
Day 7: This day is to explore the trails of Kapuluan- single tracks and fire roads to choose from. Paddle boarding or surfing lessons in the afternoon then relax. Bask in the blue lagoon or simply relax by the white sand beach until dinner is served while hanging out to the Surf and Music Festival. A relaxation day for a challenging ride to Adams the following day.
Day 8: We drive you to the trail head to start a 15km ride going up Adams, we must conquer the challenging climb to get to a vantage point overlooking rice fields and distant mountain ranges, a beauty only Adams can show us. A feast on wine locally made in Adams, organic farming and delectable food are a few rewards after a hilly climb. A 40-minute trek to the waterfalls will complete our today’s bike tour.
Day 9: Free time in the morning after breakfast. Surf, paddle and simply enjoy the white sand of Blue Lagoon. Then we drive you to Burgos’ dragon fruit farm for snacks and drop by Burgos’ Fish Sanctuary for some photo souvenirs of the coastal. We’ll send you off to Laoag International Airport for your flight back to Manila.
