Mindoro / Puerto Galera Bike Tour Itinerary
Day 1 – We will begin our bike tour in Sta. Rosa Trail that will lead us to Tagaytay Ridge. It is a network of trails that caters to different terrains for a whole day of mountain biking. We will pass through farm lands, pineapple and vegetable plantations, and orchards. To compliment the cold weather of Tagaytay you will be served with “bulalo”- is a Filipino stew made from beef shanks and bone marrows with vegetables.
Day 2 – Release your adrenaline as you go downhill from 650 masl (meters above sea level) to 0 masl off the beaten path. Today is bike and trek day. We will bike our way to a fishing village in Talisay and aboard an outrigger boat to the Taal Island. You can choose to trek or ride a horse up to the crater of Taal Volcano – the smallest active volcano in the world.
Day 3 – This bike tour also incorporates other fun activities aside from mountain biking. Be one with the nature and explore the natural and peaceful surroundings of Hidden Valley Spring. Here, you will get to enjoy the warm and clear water of its swimming pools that comes straight from the mountain.
Day 4– We head for San Pablo and ride the Golden Triangle Trails. Ride along the 7 Lakes of Laguna. Lunch is served in a bamboo raft in Pandin Lake and is pulled towards the other side of the lake.
Day 5– We now proceed to the coast of Laiya, Batangas by car and mountain bike around the trails of San Juan. After riding, enjoy a feast of different Filipino food that is waiting in La Luz Beach Resort. Take note, it’s buffet.
Day 6– Wake up early for the ferry crossing to Abra De Ilog in Mindoro Island. Abra De Ilog has numerous rivers and creeks which traverse strategic areas of the town. After taking lunch near the port, we will hit the coastal trails immediately. This bike tour includes a visit to a genuine Mangyan Village who are still unexposed to outside visitors. We end our journey for today in Tuko Beach Resort – a very peaceful and quite beach resort situated on the foot of the mountain and near the beach.
Day 7 – Today is a trekking day. We will visit a very popular river in Mindoro, the Kalong River. Take a swim in its refreshing cool water. If you are brave enough, you can jump from the top of a huge boulder onto the river. We will also have a picnic by the river. An outrigger boat is waiting for us in Tuko Beach Resort that will transfer us to Puerto Galera.
Day 8 – Puerto Galera is not only blessed and famous because of its fine white sand beach, diving sites and alluring smaller islands. It is also blessed with small waterfalls, rivers and thick rain forest. Most importantly, it is also famous because of its genuine Mangyan people who after centuries and several generations have preserved their original traditions and cultures.
Day 9 – Today we will rest from mountain biking but will have fun swimming in White Beach. By car, we will visit Sabang Beach and La Laguna Beach. You can opt to ride a banana boat or go wind sailing. In the evening we can watch a fire dance show in the beach front.
Day 10 – Learn more about the history and culture of the Philippines in a walking tour in “The Walled City” of Intramuros. It is considered the oldest and historic core of the City of Manila. A professional and knowledgeable tour guide will be happy to show you and guide you inside.
