All about the Mount Daraitan Hiking Tour.

Nestled in the mountains of Sierra Madre, Mount Daraitan is 2-hour drive from Manila. It has become a go-to mountain of beginner and experienced hikers alike because of the spectacular view of the nearby mountains in Sierra Madre. After enjoying the summit, you’ll also enjoy swimming the clear water of Tinipak River. It’s a limestone rock formation formed thousand of years ago. You can also do caving and get to bath in the cold cave water.

  1. 4:00 AM Meet up in Makati

    Our tour coordinator and driver will meet up with you at KFC-Caltex Gas Station, Buendia Ave. corner Chino Roces, Makati by 4:00 AM. There are restaurants in the area where you can eat breakfast before we leave.

  2. 5:00 AM ETD in Makati for Tanay, Rizal

    As courtesy to others, please be at the meet up location at least 30 minutes before the departure time. We’ll only allow 10-minute grace period. You can sleep in the car.

  3. 7:00 AM ETA Barangay Daraitan

    Arrival at the Barangay Daraitan Hall / trail head. We will register and meet our local guides. We’ll have a short briefing before we commence hiking.

    There are stores in the area where you can buy bottled water and trail snacks.

  4. 11:00 AM ETA Mount Daraitan summit

    Hiking duration up to Mount Daraitan’s summit is approximately 3 hours. This varies depending on the strength of the group.

    There is a store close to the summit where you can buy refreshments and snacks. We recommend that you bring your own because the food there is pricey.

    Enjoy the view at the summit. We have plenty of photo opportunities there.

    You can eat lunch at the summit but please, observe cleanliness and orderliness. Take out all the trash with you.

  5. 12:30 PM Start descent

    The trail going down from the summit is a little bit challenging specially if you do not wear the proper shoes. We highly recommend hiking shoes for better traction.

  6. 3:00 PM ETA Tinipak River

    We’ll go to the Tinipak Cave first. Headlights or flash lights are provided by us. You can swim at the underground river as long as the current is not strong.

    After the caving, we have an opportunity to swim in Tinipak River and enjoy its beautiful rock formations. There are paid shower rooms and rest rooms at the camp site where you can change your clothes.

  7. 5:00 PM ETA Daraitan Barangay Hall

    Prepare for the return trip back to Manila / Makati. There are paid shower rooms and rest rooms where you can change your clothes.

  8. 7:00 PM ETA Makati / Manila

    Arrival in Makati or Manila. We can drop you off along the way so you don’t have to go back all the way to Makati.

No, lunch is not included but a safe budget is around P100 for a good meal with a drink at the village. We recommend that you prepare a packed lunch.

We always recommend hiking shoes with threaded sole for comfort and added confidence on the trails especially for those loose soil and rocks.

Only bring the things you need to save on space. Avoid excess baggage.
