About Mount Pulag

Mount Pulag is the third highest mountain in the Philippines. It’s very famous for its beautiful sea of clouds (seasonal) at the summit. The trail is mostly covered in mossy forests while the summit is covered with dwarf bamboos.

About Sagada

Sagada is a small town found in the Mountain Province. Though a small town, it is very rich in natural wonders, traditions, and cultures. It’s famous among travelers because of its beautiful caves, amazing rice terraces, and cold waterfalls.

Sagada’s terrain and cold weather makes it an ideal place to mountain bike. Long single tracks and fun-filled downhill tracks is one of its features. Distances between tourist attractions are within the biking reach and commuting by bike is more ideal while enjoying the scenery.

Mount Pulag offers one of the most beautiful sunrise over a sea of clouds. To enjoy this we will have to start the trek as early as 2AM to reach the summit before the sun rises. Hiking is around 4 hours one way. If you’re still tired from travelling, we can opt to start late and still enjoy the summit.

After our hike in Mt. Pulag, we will go to Sagada by car. Travel time is approximately 3 hours.

  3. Day 3 - 7AM Sumaguing Cave Connection, Hanging Coffins, and Kiltepan Rice Terraces

One of the best adventure activity to do in Sagada is doing the Sumaguing cave connection. It is a huge cave that ends up at the other side of the mountain. See the different rock formations of Sumaguing. At the mouth of the cave is a burial site known as Lumiang Burial Cave.

The people of Sagada traditionally put the coffins of their dead relatives inside or at the mouth of a cave. It’s also their unique tradition to hang the coffins at the side of a rocky mountain. This is known as the Hanging Coffins of Sagada. To end today’s activity, we’ll go to Kiltepan Rice Terraces for that beautiful photo opportunity.

    Distance: Approximately 15 kilometers
Trail Condition: Combination of pavement, single tracks, and dirt road with long gradual uphill and downhill
Accommodation: Lodge Labanet or Saint Joseph’s Resthouse

  4. Day 4 - 7AM Bomod-Ok Waterfalls, Bangaan Rice Terraces, and Marlboro Trail

See the other beautiful side of Sagada. Today’s mountain biking is a little bit harder than yesterday’s because of steep, technical, and long trails up to Marlboro Trail. It’s called Marlboro Trails because of a couple of reasons. First is because of its similarities to the old commercial of Marlboro Cigarrette where a cowboy is riding his horse. And they say that there were plenty of wild horses before.

Sagada also has a huge waterfall known as Bomod-Ok. You’ll get to experience walking on rice terraces and rice paddies in Bangaan on our way to Bomod-Ok. You will have to trek about an hour to reach it and another going back.

    Distance: Approximately 25 kilometers
Trail Condition: Combination of pavement, single tracks, and dirt road with long gradual uphill and downhill
Accommodation: Lodge Labanet or Saint Joseph’s Resthouse

It’s a long drive but we can stop several times on nice spots along the way for a photo opportunity. ETA Manila is approximately 6PM. This marks the end of your adventure vacation in the Philippines.
